【摘要】：This paper investigates the effect of policy-induced shifts in higher education resources on the gender wage gap. We focus on the implementation of China’s higher education expansion policy, which has contributed to the enhancement of human capital. Our findings indicate that the higher education expansion leads to a reduction in the gender wage gap. This decline can be attributed to the role of higher education expansion in narrowing the gender gap in university education opportunities and years of education. The gender gap effect of education expansion is more pronounced in the rural household registration and the eastern region.
